Health Care

Masses in economically depressed areas in developing nations can barely afford a square meal each day. When basic needs such as food are not even met, health care needs for their families are not even on their minds. They are the ones who need affordable basic health care the most. Local hospitals and Clinics are ill-equipped to supply quality health care and medicines.

Hanuman Foundation has health care support programs in place to assist the poor who otherwise would go untreated causing loss of family income, what little they have, and even death.

Hanuman Foundation health care assistance programs include:

  • Medical Assistance
  • Medical Camps
  • Preventive Health Care Education

Medical Assistance: Support Patients Suffering from Contagious diseases

In developing nations, it is not uncommon to have an unemployment rate of 50% or higher. Those who are fortunate enough to hold a job, depending on their profession and experience, typically earn between 5,000/- to 8,000/- per month. The head of household often supports a family of five to seven members as well as parents, and sometimes siblings.

These severe economic circumstances result in less attention to personal hygiene in the family. This creates various medical problems. The problems are often ignored and can develop severe, long-term health related issues. Furthermore, school going children catch various diseases, but treatment is often neglected.

It is difficult to support each and every medical case. Hence Hanuman Foundation has given priority to patients with contagious diseases to protect their families and community at large from catching these diseases. Hanuman Foundation supports patients suffering from contagious diseases as well as others and provides them access to doctors, lab tests, medicines and follow-up visits. In addition, assistance is give to patients who need surgeries in the localities where Hanuman Foundation operates.

Hospital Assistance

Charitable hospitals, whether run by governments or private sectors, are always in deplorable conditions and cannot keep up with the growing demand of patients. This Foundation collects used and new medical equipment supplies and donates them to hospitals and clinics enabling them to provide better service.

This Foundation requires the hospital administration to sign a contract agreeing that the equipment being donated:

  • Will be used to treat the poor and the needy, and
  • Will not be removed from the hospital premises without Hanuman Foundation’s permission.

In addition, This Foundation provides cash to hospitals for patient treatment and medicines

Medical Camps:Sponsor Health Camps in remote locations:

Organize and support health care camps in small towns and villages to benefit the poor. In rural areas, there are often no facilities available for basic health care needs. The few that are there are under-staffed and mismanaged. Hence poor families suffer, particularly women and children because of the lack of female doctors in remote locations.

This Foundation sponsors health camps in remote locations and arranges for medical teams, medical supplies and medicines to benefit the poor.

Brochures are published in developing places to help inform and educate the poor about the causes, prevention and cure of common and contagious diseases.

The key to cost-effective health care management is prevention, which can only be accomplished through health care education. In rural areas, diseases are rampant due to lack of hygiene and proper education or understanding of common diseases.

Hanuman Foundation has developed simple and easy-to-understand informational brochures in local languages on diseases such as Hepatitis, Tuberculosis, Scabies, Ringworm, Diabetes, etc.

Information in the brochures has been taken from Allopathic medicine as well as alternative medicines, such as Homeopathic and Prophetic medicine. Information in these brochures answers questions such as:

  • What are the symptoms of these diseases?
  • What are the causes for these diseases?
  • What steps can be taken to prevent and cure these diseases?
  • And more…
